Sicily and Southern Italy with the La Roche Center For Lifelong Learning
This lifelong learning journey traces the cultural heart of southern Italy from Sicily to the Amalfi Coast, blending ancient history, dramatic landscapes, and regional traditions. Beginning in Sicily, explore Taormina, Mount Etna, Siracusa, and baroque Noto before crossing to Calabria and continuing north to the cave city of Matera. In Puglia’s Itria Valley, highlights include Alberobello’s trulli, baroque Lecce, whitewashed Ostuni, and a masseria olive oil tasting. The journey concludes near Pompeii with a guided visit of the Roman ruins and a farewell dinner, with an optional extension to see Positano, Sorrento and Capri offering iconic coastal scenery before returning home from Naples.
